About Faith in Words

Faith in Words creates sacred Christian portraits woven entirely from words — the names, titles, Scripture and devotion that belong to Jesus Christ, the Blessed Virgin Mary, the angels, apostles and saints.

Step close and the likeness dissolves into language; step back and the face returns. Every letter is meaningful: a portrait of the Good Shepherd is built from the very words that describe Him.

How each portrait is made

We begin with a classical depiction of the figure, then rebuild it line by line out of carefully chosen words — titles, attributes and phrases drawn from Scripture and tradition. Each finished piece is paired with a verse chosen for its subject, so the art and the Word belong together.
