So often, life tries to tell us what we can’t do. The enemy whispers defeat. Circumstances shout impossibility. But as believers, our confidence isn’t rooted in our own ability—it’s anchored in Christ. The truth is simple yet powerful: In Christ, I can.
Pastor Nancy Dufresne reminds us that the Christian life isn’t about striving in our own strength. It’s about drawing from the endless supply of God’s power within us. Philippians 4:13 says: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
But this promise is only available to those who are in Christ—and to be in Christ, you must first be born again.
Why You Must Be Born Again to Live the “In Christ I Can” Life

Jesus said in John 3:3, “Unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Being born again isn’t about religion, rules, or being “good enough.” It’s about experiencing a spiritual rebirth by receiving Jesus as your Savior.
When you are born again:
- God’s life enters your spirit (2 Corinthians 5:17)
- You are made a new creation in Christ
- You receive access to His wisdom, strength, and victory
Without this spiritual foundation, life feels like a struggle. But once you are born again, you’re equipped with supernatural strength to face every situation with confidence.
Renewing Your Mind: Replacing “I Can’t” with God’s Word
The enemy often attacks believers through thoughts of doubt and limitation. But God’s Word transforms your thinking. If you want to fully live out “In Christ I can,” start replacing “I can’t” with His promises:
- “I can overcome fear because God hasn’t given me a spirit of fear.” (2 Timothy 1:7)
- “I can walk in wisdom because Christ is made unto me wisdom.” (1 Corinthians 1:30)
- “I can do hard things because His grace is sufficient.” (2 Corinthians 12:9)
Daily confession of God’s Word will shift your mindset and strengthen your faith.
Facing Challenges with Confidence in Christ
Being a Christian doesn’t mean life will be free of challenges, but it does mean you’ll never face them alone. Instead of being overwhelmed, you can see challenges as opportunities to trust God’s power.
Like David facing Goliath, your confidence isn’t in your size, talent, or resources, but in your covenant with God. The Spirit of God living inside you gives you boldness to face every obstacle.
Walking in Daily Victory
Victory isn’t meant to be occasional—it’s meant to be your lifestyle. In Christ, you can parent with wisdom, excel at work, walk in healing, and live free from shame. This victorious life isn’t based on your strength but on what Jesus already accomplished at the cross.
Each day, declare this over yourself:
“In Christ, I can rise above every challenge. I can live in health, peace, and abundance. I can walk in love and forgiveness. I can fulfill God’s purpose for my life.”
How to Be Born Again Today
The first and most important step to experiencing this victorious life is to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior. When you’re born again, His Spirit comes to live in you, empowering you to walk out His plan.
Pray this simple prayer:
“Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God. I believe You died for my sins and rose again. I repent of my sins and ask You to come into my life. I receive You now as my Lord and Savior. Thank You for making me new. Amen.”
Welcome to a life where in Christ, you can!
Final Encouragement
If this post encouraged you, share it with someone who needs to know that victory is possible in Christ. And if you prayed that prayer for the first time, today is the start of a brand-new life—one filled with purpose, peace, and power.
